VEDA

Veda Aggarwal is a classical guitarist with a merit in the Trinity College Grade 8 examination in 2005. Veda lives in Pune, India, and has been teaching and performing locally for several years. Her last collaborative work was adapting arias from Mozart’s Don Giovianni for classical guitar, in a unique online partnership with the American soprano Samantha Chardin. One of five national finalists for the Spanish Guitar Competition in 2009, Veda has received special training from classical guitarists Roger Zimmerman and GFA 2010 winner Johannes Moller.

Veda has also been a journalist and graphic designer. In 2008 she was part of the team that launched the Pune Mirror, and she worked there for three years as features writer. She has since written freelance for local and national media. Her design assignments include websites and corporate communications projects for a range of individuals and organizations.

She is currently the director of the Indian Guitar Federation, a society meant to develop and promote classical guitar within the country.

KULDEEP
Pune-based guitarist Kuldeep Barve plays the guitar in several styles, though his primary oeuvre remains the classical guitar. He has been awarded a Grade 8 Certificate from Trinity Guildhall and is actively continuing his study of the instrument.

Kuldeep has extended his interests into most areas of guitar playing. He has been a part of the short-lived but well-received folk-fusion ensemble ‘Sankara’ for which he sang and played acoustic guitar. He has also long been involved with traditional acoustic folk/blues music. He is currently studying improvisation and jazz harmony.
