Indian mythological, anthropological as well as several literal accounts extensively speak of the emotion
love and it’s spiritual as well as physical manifestations. Ours is a culture that has celebrated and discussed
this natural act in its multiple forms and layers.

Why then has, a modern Indian society come to be so hushed about love and sex? Why is it that even in “linen-clad-liberal-circles” we are shy and almost scandalized to discuss love and sex?
Independent filmmaker Qaushiq Mukherjee presents to you a rebellious, yet poetic journey through his quest to question this. Through personal interviews and voice-over narration he puts forth a series of questions, the ones we didn’t know how to ask.

A documentary film, based on a search for the roots of romance and the eternal flame of love. a film by Q.
Love in India is a passionate look at the way passion is perceived in India.
It’s a personal film, designed with fragments of the romance between the film maker and his girlfriend.
But soon, the film spills on to the chaos that is India.
Old or new? Love or sex? Love in India is a volatile story of confusion, dichotomy and revelation.
A story of repressed moral values in a country with a timeless tradition of spiritual sexuality.
