Hannah Silva | Poet, Playwright and Performer
Talk: ‘The use of voice and body in poetry performance’ Hannah Silva is a Birmingham-based poet, playwright and performer. She has shown herwork throughout the UK and internationally including at the Tokyo Design Centre, Krikri International Festival of Polyphony in Belgium, Latitude Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, and Southbank Centre, London. Her solo show Opposition toured nationally 2011-12 and was described by What’s on Stage as ‘radical, political, courageous’. Her debut poetry collection Forms of Protest was published by Penned in the Margins in 2013 and was Highly Commended in the Forward Prizes. Marathon Tales, co-written with Colin Teevan for BBC Radio 3 won the 2014 Tinniswood Award for Best Radio Drama Script. Her solo performance Total Man (Electronic Voice Phenomena) was shortlisted for the Ted Hughes Award for New Work in Poetry.
